Our company has recently started developing an interesting agricultural project involving the construction of an advanced goat milking parlour.
Goat farming has a long history, as well as modern achievements and growth trends in global agricultural production, due to the high value of goat products.
The main products of goat farming are down, wool (mohair), milk, meat, and hides. It has been archaeologically proven that the goat was one of the first domesticated agricultural animals. Goats are active, sociable, and sensitive animals that respond quickly to changes in their environment. Thanks to their inquisitive nature, goats quickly adapt to daily routines and easily become accustomed to their owner. The sociability of goats is evident both in their relationships with one another and in their interaction with humans. They may perceive a person as part of their herd and willingly follow them as a leader. If a person was present at the birth of a kid, the young goats may later regard that person as one of their own.
Due to the established consumption culture in our country, the main product on the domestic market is goat milk. Here are several facts about this product:
- goat milk has a lower fat content than cow’s milk, which has a positive effect on human health, especially for those with gastrointestinal disorders.
- goat milk is more resistant to environmental influences, which means the shelf life of this dairy product can be extended several times over.
- goat milk is of higher quality and contains significantly less lactose, and in certain cases it is suitable even for people who suffer from allergies or intolerance.
- the proteins in goat milk are significantly superior in quality to those in cow’s milk: they contain higher levels of picrin and thiamine—substances essential for the functioning of the human body.
Current market and production trends require modern technologies for goat milk processing. Today, the most advanced milking parlour in the world is considered to be one equipped with a robotic rotary system. This type of parlour uses numerous unique technological solutions. A unique robotic carriage allows a single operator to milk up to 1,300 goats per hour. During the milking process, exceptional cleanliness and premium milk quality are maintained cycle after cycle. In addition, all the options used in traditional milking parlours can also be integrated into this system.
Goats are unique and demanding animals, so to ensure their maximum comfort, the rotary platform is additionally equipped with a drinker, a feeder, and an automated milking unit. The level of equipment fitted to the “carousel” depends on the degree of automation required by a particular farm.
We sincerely hope that nothing will stand in the way of our respected client’s plans, and that before long we will be able to see products made from this valuable and beneficial milk on the shelves of our stores.
