About the project:
The design scope covered the operating extraction workshop at the Dnipropetrovsk Oil Extraction Plant (Dnipro). The main challenge of the project was the need to modernize the equipment within a functioning enterprise with a sunflower seed processing capacity of 13,464,000 t/year.
Purpose of the modernization:
Transition to modern, highly efficient absorption system equipment. The design solutions were aimed at:
- Increasing the overall productivity of the workshop;
- Improving the energy efficiency and environmental safety of production;
- Ensuring the equipment complies with stringent industrial safety requirements.
Technical features and scope of work:
TCH specialists developed the full package of working documentation (Detailed Design stage), including the process engineering section, which covered:
- Integration into the existing cycle: The system replacement was designed to be carried out in a single phase without shutting down adjacent commissioning complexes, within an operating enterprise and taking into account the constrained site conditions and implementation complexity.
- Process calculations: Selection and specification of equipment for mineral oil production, fully compliant with the Client’s technical brief.
- BIM modelling of units: The graphic part of the project was prepared with due regard to the dimensions of the existing premises, which made it possible to avoid clashes during the installation of the new equipment.
- Ergonomics: Design of the service area taking into account the plant’s staffing structure, ensuring convenient operation of the systems by the existing personnel.
- Strength and stability: As part of the project, an engineering survey of the building was carried out, and optimal solutions were adopted for strengthening the building structures during dismantling and construction works, as well as for additional reinforcement of the building frame elements in the areas where the new equipment was installed.
Result:
As a result of the implemented project, the plant received a modern absorption system that ensures full delivery of the production programme. The project successfully passed all internal approvals, complies with the current State Building Codes of Ukraine (DBN) and industrial safety standards, and has already been implemented at the plant.
